Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained can make it difficult to see a way forward—but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Mariam strives to create a warm, welcoming space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, letting their guard down, and exploring their thoughts and emotions without judgment.
Mariam is a master’s-level, pre-licensed therapist who earned her Master of Science in Community & Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware, with minors in Human Development & Family Sciences and Disability Studies. Her clinical training focuses on trauma-informed care, and she has experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and individuals navigating a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges.
She specializes in working with children and adolescents ages 5–18 and is trained in Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy. These creative, developmentally appropriate approaches allow children to express emotions, process difficult experiences, and build healthy coping skills in ways that feel natural and engaging. Mariam believes that healing often happens through play, creativity, and meaningful connection.
In addition to her work with children and teens, Mariam enjoys supporting individuals of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, family changes, and occupational stress. She utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed interventions, while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique strengths and goals.
Mariam takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy and values working alongside clients—and when appropriate, their caregivers and families—to foster lasting growth both inside and outside of the therapy room. She believes healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and supported, and she is passionate about helping clients build resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.
When she’s not in the office, Mariam enjoys spending time with friends and family, relaxing at the beach, and taking walks outdoors.
